MAY FAVOURITES

Sunday 8 June 2014

It's June already, and that means half the year has almost gone. It's completely flown by! Soon it will be Christmas and I'll be 23...ok, so not quite yet but time is definitely going by so quickly. Today I stopped to think of the things I've been loving during the month of May. And here they are:

Cheap Sunglasses

They may not protect your eyes as much as the more expensive ones but I am loving these sunglasses I got from H&M and Primark. The burgundy ones were £3.99 and the aviator style ones from Primark were £2. Bargains! I would like to buy some Ray Bans but I need to save a bit of money first. I'm content with my cheap ones for now.

If only the sun would stay out for me to get more wear out of these!

Bourjois Makeup

Bourjois is fast becoming my favourite high street makeup brand. I love their lip products, mascara and foundation. I'm excited to try other bits from them but for now I've been adoring their new mascara - Volume 1 Seconde waterproof mascara - and their Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick in the shade Peach Club.

You all know how much I love a matte lip. I'm quite obsessed, in fact! This Bourjois offering is truly amazing. It stays on for hours and hours. I had it on for a solid 6 hours the first time, whilst eating and drinking, and the colour was intact. The longevity of the mascara is also something to be admired. This stuff is the real deal! Even when using my Garnier misceller water and Simple eye makeup remover, it still wouldn't budge off my eyelashes. It gave them some volume, definition and it stuck around all day. Perfection. Bourjois can do no wrong.

Rimmel - Fancy A Dip?

Fleur De Force mentioned this nail polish in one of her videos. I'm a sucker for a blue polish so I quickly snapped it up on my next trip to Boots. It's a gorgeous cornflower blue colour. But I kinda wish I never picked this up. After buying it I shortly figured out why I liked it so much. It's pretty much an exact dupe of Barry M's Blueberry in their Gelly range. Both are amazing but I think Barry M's version is much better, on longevity alone. However, Fancy A Dip? is about a pound cheaper so you can't go wrong with either version.

Deliciously Ella

I was watching Sunday Brunch a couple of weeks ago and Ella was on it, discussing her blog and her upcoming book. I was so intrigued about her recipes and her approach to healthy eating. She completely changed her diet for health reasons - something I'm currently trying to do. After watching the show I found her blog and I couldn't get over how tasty the food looked. I've even downloaded her app and I'm determined to try out some of her food, especially the breakfast options!

  1. I've been looking for a new mascara - your post has tempted me to buy this Bourjois one - any chance of a full on review? Same with the velvet lip product. I've been trying to decide which one to go for, but they all seem so bright, I'm trying to muster up the courage to go for one!

Thanks to your favorite posts I've just ordered my first Essie polish, in the classic Ballet Slippers - so excited to try it out!
