REVIEW & SWATCHES | THEBALM NUDE 'TUDE EYESHADOW PALETTE

Friday 9 May 2014

I've been looking for another eyeshadow palette for quite some time. I've worn my Naked 3 palette so much recently and I fancied something a bit different. This is where theBalm Nude 'tude Eyeshadow Palette came in. It contains nude shades - colours that work best on me. I usually veer away from colourful eyes because they can go really wrong. I thought I'd show you this palette and give you my thoughts on it, as well as show you some swatches.

L-R: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy and Serious
L-R: Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive, Silly and Sleek

The Nude 'tube contains 12 shades: 4 matte shades and 8 shimmery shades. The matte ones are Sultry, Sexy, Serious and Sleek. Sexy is probably my favourite shade at the moment because I love the purple tone to it but this could change as I continue using the palette.

Some of the shimmery shades are a little too shimmery to show up on the images above, including Snobby, Stand-offish, Sassy and Stubborn, but they are good shades if you want a slight hint of colour, with a darker nude in the crease. Whilst the Naked 3 palette favours rose gold shades, the Nude 'tube provides a wide variety with white, yellow, pinks, browns, purple and matte blacks.

One of the best things about the Nude 'tube is the cute packaging. I think that's what initially drew me to this eyeshadow palette, instead of the Stila one I was eyeing up (eyeing up, get it?) I've not heard much about the brand, theBalm, except for a few mentions in beauty videos. Feel Unique were offering £10 off when I bought this palette so I got it for £16 instead of £26, which is an absolute bargain!

Pros
  • Variety of shades - something for everyone
  • Contains matte shades, as well as shimmery ones
  • Very pigmented
  • Long lasting
Cons
  • Fallout is a bit of an issue with some of these shades, especially the ones with glitter
  • The brush included isn't that great (I applied the shadows using my MAC 217 brush)

I can't wait to get more use out of this palette. I love the shades and how pigmented they are. It's probably not as good as my Naked 3 palette but I couldn't argue with the price at £16. You can find it on Feel Unique's website.
