October Favourites
Apologies for my lack of favourites posts recently. It's November already, which means Halloween has been and gone and Christmas is almost here. I've gathered together a few things that I've been loving this month. I tried to make it a bit different, instead of your standard beauty bits.

On holiday I lounged around by the pool, and on the beach, whilst reading Lena Dunham's Not That Kind of Girl. Girls is one of my favourite shows. I think Lena Dunham is such a talented writer, and I can relate to a lot of the issues she writes about, whether on Girls or in this book. She manages to articulate the hopelessness of being a confused 20-something woman in the 21st century. Some of her experiences made me laugh, some made me cringe and others made me feel sympathetic (especially the date rape she writes so candidly about).
Dunham is a bit like marmite: I've seen so many people criticise her on Twitter recently, saying she's annoying and quite arrogant, but I can't help but like her. She's a successful, talented woman and I really admire her.

Impulse body spray reminds me of my secondary school changing room. None of the girls wanted to shower after P.E so they would just spray on some Impulse or Charlie body spray and would be good to go for the rest of the day - sweaty armpits masked by the sweet scent sprays that last for around 10 minutes before the putrid smell returned.
I've gone off topic here but I still love Impulse, and I always have to carry one in my bag. I'm using a new one called Rock & Love. Its Amber and Orange Blossom and I'm really enjoying using it at the moment. Orange scents are my favourite, especially during Autumn. I will definitely repurchase this as soon as I run out.

I didn't go out on Halloween last Friday and I haven't been to any themed parties but when I saw this gold masquerade mask I just had to buy it. I love the masquerade balls they host in American TV shows like Gossip Girl and 90210. The fashion is always on point, and the masks look beautiful. I'm not sure if those kind of parties are a thing in the UK but I still wanted this mask. I'll be sure to incorporate it into my next fancy dress costume.

I've gone over to the dark side once again and bought another MAC lipstick. This one is Brick-O-LA from the Amplified range. I'd describe it as a red toned brown colour, suitable for this weather as it compliments an Autumnal look. I usually don't like wearing dark colours on my lips. In Summer I wore bright pink, coral and red. Now, I'm loving berry and brown tones. I'm looking forward to building my MAC lipstick collection. I'm eyeing up Patisserie next!

What were you loving in October? Let me know in the comments!
