NOVEMBER FAVOURITES

Sunday 14 December 2014

Another month has gone and that means one thing - another monthly favourites post. I've got a revamped old favourite, a few make-up favourites and a blog favourite. I'm still considering whether I want to continue writing these posts every month so do let me know in the comments if you enjoy them or not. Thanks!

Hannah Gale's blog
You've probably seen posts of Hannah's before. Her lists are particularly popular amongst young women on Facebook - I've seen countless people sharing her posts, including 24 Important Things All Women Learn In Their Twenties. All her posts are relatable with a hint of nostalgia. It feels like you're talking to an old friend over a bottle of wine about what life was like when you were growing up, and how awful your twenties can be.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation
This was recommended to me by a work colleague. She told me it has amazing coverage, and is brilliant for oily skin. I've never tried a mousse foundation before because it's a lot heavier than the foundations I use. I usually opt for L'Oreal's True Match foundation and that's incredibly light on the skin, with buildable coverage. This Rimmel offering is thick, so a little goes a long way. It covers my scarred skin and lasts all day - exactly what I look for in a foundation.

Batiste Floral Dry Shampoo
If you're a keen follower on my blog you'll know how much I love dry shampoo. I hate washing my hair but it gets greasy quickly so this is my holy grail of hair products. This floral one is great because it smells so nice. It's almost like a body spray or perfume, it's a lovely floral scent. It's definitely my staple dry shampoo from now on.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry
I'm a huge fan of the Revlon Matte Balms. I wrote a post on them back in March, which you can find here. My favourite was the pale pink, Elusive, but now I feel like I have a new favourite. It's another pink but it's a lot darker than Elusive. Sultry is dusty pink and is perfect for the autumnal/winter weather. It comes off as more of a berry than a pink. It's beautiful on the lips, and I keep reaching for it whenever I'm going to the pub or other nights out.

Rimmel Provocalips 16hour in Make Your Move
This claims to last 16 hours and it does exactly what it says on the tin (tube). It comes in 2 steps: one is the colour and the other is a clear finish that gives it a matte effect, which is what makes it last. I've worn this to work on a 9 hour shift and it hasn't budged, even when I've eaten food and drank throughout the day. This is one of the nude shades from the collection. I'm excited to try the darker shades to see how they fare with this formula.
